New CBC series highlights the challenges of military transition
Good People is a CBC factual series hosted by Mark Sakamoto that takes a hard look at Canada’s problems and the solutions that offer hope. In the fourth episode, Mark highlights the difficulties veterans face transitioning to civilian life and what organizations like Prince’s Trust Canada are doing to help.
The episode features footage from one of Operation Entrepreneur’s introduction to entrepreneurship workshops and follows program alumnus JR Smith, owner of Frontline Cabinetry.
“We hope that this inspiring episode of Good People will help Canadians increase their awareness and understanding about the many difficulties of military transition,” said Sharon Broughton, CEO of Prince’s Trust Canada. “This episode also highlights some of the things that Canadians can do to support veterans – including buying from veteran-owned businesses and becoming a mentor.”
The episode also features VETS Canada, another non-profit organization that provides aid to at-risk veterans.
