Thanks for your interest in taking part in Discover: Sustainable Cities, hosted by Prince's Trust Canada. 

 
Discover: Sustainable Cities is a two-day program, combining virtual sessions with an in-person, hands-on experience. The aim of the program is to highlight the importance of environmental stewardship in urban spaces to increase quality of life. 

 

Day 1 connects participants with professionals to highlight the diverse career opportunities supporting sustainability within cities. 

This portion of the program is being held virtually on Thursday, September 29, from 10:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. PDT // 1:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. EDT

 

Day 2 brings participants to an urban farm to gain real-world insight into how urban spaces can be transformed to create more sustainable, green cities. 


 

The in-person component is only available to those in the Lower-Mainland or the Greater Toronto Area.  


Vancouver in person:


The in-person portion of the program is being held on Sunday, October 2 from 10:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. PDT


We’re headed to Sweet Digz Farm, a veganic-regenerative small-scale farm in Steveston, BC, on leased land located in unceeded traditional territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) and hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓-speaking Coast Salish peoples. 

 

Join us for a tour, a talk and a snack with Kimi and Kareno to learn about the value of soil health, pollinator habitats and their commitment to bringing healthy options to their neighbours with CSA boxes!

Toronto in person: 

 

The in-person portion of the program is being held on Wednesday, September 28 from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. EDT


We're headed to Flemo Farm, a community-developed initiative that has transformed an underutilized grass area into a vibrant community space, growing healthy food for the residents of Flemingdon Park. 


Join us for a tour, an activity, and lunch while we learn about engaging the community in the growing of food and the benefits of agriculture as an entrepreneurial development opportunity.
