The Veteran Energy Advisor Program (VEAP) is a comprehensive training and mentoring program that provides Veterans and transitioning members of the Canadian Armed Forces with a pathway to become a successful registered Energy Advisor.
VEAP capitalizes on the growing demand for more Energy Advisors across the residential building and renovation sectors in Canada. This includes government-led investments in the energy efficiency sector, such as updates to the Canadian National Building Code, the Greener Homes Initiative and the BC Energy Step Code, as well as growing awareness of the role that the residential construction sector plays in creating a more sustainable future for all Canadians.
VEAP combines virtual classroom learning, access to industry experts, and trade-specific hands-on training. This approach ensures participants are adequately supported throughout the program and that they leave with the theoretical and practical knowledge to pass the NRCan exams and to become skilled and confident Energy Advisors. To deliver VEAP, we’ve partnered with the Canadian Association of Consulting Energy Advisors and Blue House Energy to ensure the program aligns with and reflects industry standards and expectations.
